It was the first park of this type built by the company Walt Disney and is also the only one designed and built under the supervision of the American producer and filmmaker. It is divided into thematic areas and has a wheel-shaped design, whose axis is the castle of Sleeping Beauty, from which exits avenues to each of the other areas. At first there were five lands Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Fantasyland and Tomorrowland, which were added another three later: New Orleans Square, Critter Country and Mickey’s Diner Toontown. There are more than 60 attractions distributed in each of the areas and thematic events are held every day.

These events vary when a special holiday is commemorated, as is the case of the fireworks show that takes place every night in front of the castle, and whose concept changes on the Independence Day of the United States, on Halloween, Christmas and New Year. Parades of allegorical cars and disguised employees are also carried out daily. In some events, visitors interact directly with disguised employees and others are performed in scenarios installed for a specific audience, as is the case of Fantasmic!, which takes place in the evenings on the island of Frontierland, and where It represents a battle of Mickey Mouse and its allies against the villains of different films of the company.
